Launch of the Climate Change Plan and the Regional Adaptation Study report - Friday 13th March 2009!!

Following the consultation over the past few months, the Climate Change Plan is now in its final stage and ready for launch on Friday 13th March 2009.  Key partners including senior executives will be collectively signing up to a Climate Change pledge which will emphasise the importance of working together to tackle this issue at a local and regional level.

The revised Yorkshire and Humber Climate Change Plan sets out the strategic direction for managing and combating climate change in the region over the next five years.  The plan does not include a lot of detailed actions.  Its purpose is to create a framework for regional and local leaders, and for decision makers in all sectors to do what is needed to help the region adapt to Climate Change, and to reduce our contribution to its causes.  In addition, the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Change Adaptation Study report is being launched to provide a catalyst for such action in the region on Climate Change adaptation activities.
