Yorkshire & Humber Regional Climate Change Adaptation Study

A pioneering new study, focussing on how Yorkshire and the
Humber may be affected by climate change and how the region will have to adapt to cope, is now underway. The Yorkshire and Humber Climate Change Adaptation Study is intended to provide a catalyst for such action in the region on climate change adaptation activities.
The study is being undertaken by internationally renowned consultants Royal Haskoning and is being managed by a Steering Group comprising Yorkshire and Humber Assembly, Yorkshire Futures, Yorkshire Forward, Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber, Environment Agency, Natural England and United Kingdom Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP).
The study will comprise three main stages:
-
Stage 1 – Data Collation and Baseline Review
-
Stage 2 – Climate and Weather Assessments
-
Stage 3 – Impacts and Adaptation Assessments
The Study will report its findings in February 2009. The Steering Group have now agreed a detailed work plan and a leaflet summarising this
